Is a third temple prophesied in relation to Antichrist?

The Temple built by King Solomon to God’s specifications and destroyed in 70 A.D.

We may be into tribulation sooner if this discovery can be confirmed. The body of Believers awaits the rebuilding of the temple as a key event signalling great tribulation in Revelation. Now a Bible Scholar brings this into question.

I was troubled in my spirit, researching yesterday and today about the requirement to build a new temple in Jerusalem to preface great tribulations. I don’t want to offend anyone especially our Jewish friends. Messianic Rabbi Jonathan Cahn said it was key to PM Netanyahu–that everything revolves around the building of this temple. I am no longer convinced; it is our duty as Christians to ‘divide’ the word, I bring this into review.

The Jews may go ahead and build a temple; but, it may not be a prophecy that requires fulfillment of the end times. In fact, the temple mount is a ‘holy place.’ This could mean other than a temple; but, rather ‘over’ the designated Holy place.

Matthew 24:15

15 “Therefore when you see the ‘abomination of desolation,’ spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place” (whoever reads, let him understand), 16 “then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains.

Daniel 12:11 (sacrifice not in original text)

11 “And from the time that the daily sacrifice is taken away, and the abomination of desolation is set up, there shall be one thousand two hundred and ninety days

Later today, I tripped on Carl Gallups surmising the same idea. I am no Bible scholar as Gallups and hardly believe I was on the same path; but, I am a passionate tester of all things. These are my original thoughts and it seems it was Gallups’ first; so, my research which pales compared to Gallups’ may serve as confirmation. This is by no means conclusive. My spirit sent me on this quest and I will seek my Guide toward a conclusion.

Brothers and sisters consider this.

“The third temple must be rebuilt so the Antichrist can enter” – REALLY?

The drawings for the new temple are ready in Israel. Even so, I wonder if they are exactly as dictated by God to King Solomon. I expect the Dome of the Rock on the temple mount would have to be destroyed–unless the temple is rebuilt in the East court. Unprecedented conflict would flare up to realize either scenario. And as Gallups said, “it is a monumental task.” How many years would it take to rebuild the temple and its artifacts?

Let’s not forget that the Lord said that from the re-establishment of Israel, May 1948, a generation would not pass. A generation in scriptures is 70 to 80 years or 2018 to 2028. Is there enough time to build such a glorious temple–even a possibility when the Middle East is in unprecedented conflict?

The Jews have already made altars, vessels and birthed a red heifer for sacrifice; yet, there is no mention of this sacrifice in prophecy for the last days. Why would our Messiah require the rebuilding of a temple by Jews for a Messiah they believe has not yet come? Jews do not believe in Jesus Christ; yet, it is commanded us to bless Israel. Let’s not forget that 144,000 messianic Jews in Israel are selected and sealed to witness to the world about Jesus Christ as the Messiah.

According to Gallups, no scripture demands the rebuilding of a third temple for the return of the Antichrist. Are we in fact reading about a metaphorical temple in reference to end times prophecies?  Are we Believers not the temple of God (1 Cor 3:16)? The new covenant declares again and again that the temple of God is the Believer’s body with a supernatural tenant, the Holy Spirit.

Gallups makes a good case for this in the interview below. “The word temple is used fifteen times in Revelation; fourteen are about the temple in heaven.” (Revelation 11 could shoot down his theory.) God may not be talking about a literal temple.

Gallups has researched the original languages and their meaning. Be prepared to take notes as you listen. He makes a strong argument.

“The abomination of desolation” standing in the holy place.

The abomination of desolation (the AntiChrist) has not yet entered the ‘holy place’ desecrating it. When he does Jesus warns to run as the last prophecies will pass quickly–exceedingly quickly.

Is the abomination of desolation the worship of the beast within the body of Christ–the falling away of Christians?

2 Thess 2 : 3-4

Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of perdition, who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God or that is worshiped, so that he sits as God in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God.

1 Cor 3 : 16

Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?

Matthew 26 : 61

and said, “This fellow said, ‘I am able to destroy the temple of God and to build it in three days.’”

Daniel 8: 11 (sacrifice not on original text)

He even exalted himself as high as the Prince of the host; and by him the daily sacrifices were taken away, and the place of His sanctuary was cast down.

Revelation 11 : 1-3

Then I was given a reed like a measuring rod. And the angel stood, saying, “Rise and measure the temple of God, the altar, and those who worship there. But leave out the court which is outside the temple, and do not measure it, for it has been given to the Gentiles. And they will tread the holy city underfoot for forty-two months. And I will give power to my two witnesses, and they will prophesy one thousand two hundred and sixty days, clothed in sackcloth.”

It may be that a third temple will be built; but, in Revelation 11:1 it seems incomplete–not to original specifications.

In the end, Jesus will rule the whole world from Jerusalem and there will be no idols, no persons that deceive Believers and the Kingdom of Heaven on earth will be established.
